Bio-Pellets are a "Game Changer"! Join the Revolutionary Biological Method that is Transforming Reefkeeping.
Initial results of the use of Bio-Pellets in reef aquaria is indicating a "Sea Change" (pun intended) as fundamental as the invention of the protein skimmer, which may single-handedly make maintaining a saltwater tank as easy as freshwater. This same product eliminates nuisance algae and creates crystal clear water effortlessly for even the most inexperienced reefkeepers. To top it all off, it's simple, inexpensive and largely "hands-free".
Biopellets are composed of biodegradable (PHA) polymers designed for use in a fluidized filter. The pellets promote the growth of aerobic and anaerobic bacteria which use carbon from the pellets to consume nitrate and phosphate. This process dramatically eliminates Nitrates and Phosphates, which starve algae and cyanobacteria (red slime) while the increase in bacteria improves the overall health and vigor of the tank's inhabitants. The surplus bacteria generated by the biopellets are then consumed by sponges and corals or removed by a protein skimmer. Within a few weeks, without any routine dosing, even the most novice reefkeeper is left with a crystal clear tank.
Important: Start Slowly! Fill the reactor with 1/4 the recommended amount and let the reactor run for a few days. Keep adding media in (approximate) 25% batches until you reach optimum capacity.

* Net gallons = The total volume of water in your tank including refugia and/or sump but MINUS the rock and sand. Example: A 150 gallon system may hold a total of 165 gallons including the sump. If you estimate that the rock and sand fill 1/3 of the tank, subtract approximately 15-20% of the volume or 35 gallons. You could use a 500 ml bag of Bio-pellets.
